Toyota Urban Cruiser, a 100% electric car, officially launched, entering the European market

The all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser, an all-electric SUV, made its public debut in Europe at the Brussels Motor Show, AutoSalon/Salon de l’Auto 2025, which runs from January 10 to 19 at the Brussels Expo.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser, a compact SUV, is ready to enter the European electric car market, one of the most competitive and fastest-growing markets. Pre-orders for the new model are now open in some countries.

In terms of size, the Urban Cruiser has a slightly larger exterior than the Yaris Cross and has a tight turning radius of only 5.2 meters, making it agile in city driving.

Urban Cruiser interior comes with a long wheelbase of 2,700 mm. (140 mm. longer than the Yaris Cross) combined with a flexible sliding rear seat layout. The seats can be folded separately 40:20:40 and can be reclined, helping to increase the interior space. The legroom in the rear seat can be expanded to the level of a D-segment car.

The Urban Cruiser’s cabin design retains the SUV identity with a low horizontal dashboard and high seating position, which provides the driver with good all-round visibility. The interior atmosphere can be customized with a lighting system that offers 12 colors to choose.

The Urban Cruiser is built on a new, strong yet lightweight platform designed specifically for battery electric vehicles. This design eliminates the need for underbody crossbars, allowing more space for the battery without compromising cabin space.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Specifications


The Toyota Urban Cruiser comes with two battery sizes: 49 kWh (144 hp, front-wheel drive) and 61 kWh (174 – 184 hp, front-wheel drive/four-wheel drive). Both use lithium iron phosphate technology. The four-wheel drive model comes with an additional motor, Downhill Assist Control, and Trail/Snow mode for confident driving on all road conditions.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will come with a full range of advanced active safety and driver assistance systems, including pre-collision systems, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping warning/assist systems.

The Urban Cruiser also comes with a 10.25-inch driver display and a 10.1-inch multimedia display, which are integrated into a single unit. It supports easy smartphone connectivity with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium equipment includes a 360-degree camera, JBL sound system, electric driver’s seat, and sunroof.
