Apple Intelligence adds support for 8 more languages

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced during the Q4 2024 earnings call that Apple Intelligence will now support eight new languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

The update will arrive in April, likely as part of iOS 18.4. Cook said that it will also include localized English support for users in India and Singapore. Apple Intelligence is currently only available in English-speaking regions such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa.

During the conference, Cook expressed his belief in the importance of Apple Intelligence features, saying, “Once you start using these features, you can’t imagine not using them again,” particularly the email summary feature, which Cook said he uses to handle hundreds of emails a day.

Many of Apple Intelligence features have been introduced since iOS 18.1, but limited language support has prevented widespread adoption worldwide.
